What is online fitness coaching?


Online fitness and health coaching is new and quickly growing! Many people have experienced the wonderful benefits and more and more are opting in for it - daily! But just what is online fitness coaching and how does it work?

Online fitness coaching is the most flexible, most cost-effective way to get world-class coaching anywhere in the world. If you want to work out when it’s convenient for you and not have to worry about your coach's location or availability, then online coaching could be the right fit for you. Every online coaching program will vary, but every program will offer fitness and/or nutrition guidance, online support, and a program tailored to your health and fitness goals.


Online coaching is a new and exciting way for us to offer our members and clients what they need, when they need it! We try our best to keep it simple with the software, so anyone can benefit! Group Coaching Members can log in through our website and view the entire workout plan for the week. Workouts are categorized according to your health and fitness goals. Each workout plan also comes with a video demonstration on how each workout is performed. In addition, we offer live, interactive Zoom (an app that we use) workouts so we can offer our coaching during the workout and help with our members with technique, and offer modifications. Similar to an in-person Group Fitness Class. If you miss the live Zoom workout, the replay is posted for up to 48 hours after, so you can catch some live coaching action at your convenience. Personal Training Very similar to in person training you book your training sessions with your coach and meet with them on the Zoom app. Before getting started with your Coach we ask you a few questions and go over your fitness and health goals. We get to learn about your lifestyle, schedule, and what kind of equipment you have available to you. Coaches will either give you an online fitness program or run you through sessions on the Zoom app or a combination of both.

Communication We keep in contact with our members and clients via email, zoom, our private facebook group and facebook messenger. Keeping in contact with our clients helps keep our clients accountable and engaged with their training. It may sound like a lot but most of our clients get the hang of it really quick. Who can benefit from online coaching A huge variety of people can benefit from online coaching (myself included). A great coach often serves a very specific group of people. With online coaching you can work with a variety of different coaches, not depending on their location. Scheduling is not an issue with online coaching. It is not dependent on class times or a Trainer’s availability. You workout when and where you want to, but still get the benefits of a structured program and ongoing support from a coach. Coaches can also be much more flexible with your workouts. Instead of your typical 60-minute workout it can be split into two, 45-minute sessions, or a 90 minute session, it’s really up to you! Workouts are created to fit your schedule. No matter how busy you might be. You travel a lot Maintaining and improving your health and fitness can be challenging if you travel a lot. Having a plan of action and a coach who supports you, can certainly help! One of our clients gets three travel workouts a month in addition to her at-home and gym workouts. Workouts can be modified depending on what is available at the hotel gym, weather etc. You want to workout at home You don’t need to go to a gym if you don’t want to. More and more clients and members are training from the comfort of their home. Many choose to train at home because of covid-19, taking care of children, living in remote locations where there is no gym, or just simple convenience. You can skyrocket your fitness at home with the right set of body weight exercises coupled with a few pieces of equipment. A home gym can range from one kettlebell to a fully functional home gym with a pair of rings, a kettlebell and squat rack. You’re on a budget Online coaching is cost effective. You’re not paying a coach an hourly rate (plus gym overhead costs) so you can get better rates at a fraction of the price. Rather than booking 60-minute sessions at the gym each week, online coaches can provide ongoing (and better) support as you work towards your goals. What type of client might not do well with online coaching? If you're the type of person who needs an appointment with a trainer at a gym in order to workout, then online coaching might not work best for you. You’re going to need some level of self-motivation and self-discipline to get the most of online coaching. You get structure, direction, support, and accountability but it’s still up to you to get the work done.
