Our Mission

My name is Vladimir Quijada and my brother, Will, and I run a very unique gym - Absolute Fitness Red Deer.

We get the privilege of spending our days helping folks who are looking for a fun and effective way to achieve their fitness goals, especially those that involve training for general fitness in areas of mobility, strength and conditioning. Business is booming, so we’re on the lookout for new team members to help us keep up with the demand!

We’re looking for enthusiastic, positive, and hard working Receptionist/Administrative Assistant. Infectious energy, a warm and positive demeanour, passion for fitness, and the ability to connect with people is what we’re looking for most. The rest can be taught, and we are happy to teach!

Fair Warning

Our hiring process is not quick and easy! We are going to ask you to jump through a few hoops to prove you have the character we’re looking for, as well as demonstrate that your values align with our mission and vision.

You will have at least 2-3 interviews. We take our time to make sure you are someone we want to invest our resources into. You must have what it takes to be a part of #TeamAbsolute… we do not want just anybody! We want a team member willing to grow with us for years to come!

Receptionist/Administrative Assistant:

Your Mission:
To meet and greet our clients in person, phone, email and social media communications. Cultivate a strong sense of family and community, and create raving fans of Absolute Fitness Red Deer. 
 

Required Tasks:

 

  • Greet and Welcome Clients         

  • Phone (incoming calls, returning calls, text message)

  • E-mail correspondence

  • Data Entry

  • Client scheduling 

  • Customer service tasks (order entry, phone calls, e-mails)

  • Special projects

  • Work directly with trainers, manager, and owner

  • Execute marketing as required

  • Tidy and organize gym

These are the skills you must already have to qualify for this position: 
 

Microsoft Word/Publisher: You must be very comfortable using Word and Publisher. 


Microsoft Excel: You must have basic Excel skills. We don’t do anything advanced with this software, just some simple spreadsheets, but you must be comfortable doing what I need you to do.

Good Phone Personality/Etiquette: You will be talking with our customers, who are VERY important to us, and prospective customers, who are also important. You must be comfortable conversing on the phone, in person, and through email. You must know how to conduct yourself professionally, take clear messages and deliver clear instructions to the prospect or client. We will teach you everything you need to say and do, but we can’t teach you manners and professionalism.
 

Computer Literate/Tech Savvy: We do a great deal online with Google drive, Wellness living and Wix. Being able to quickly learn, apply and trouble shoot is a must - on a desktop and on mobile. 
 

Thoughtfulness And Organization: We need you to be able to think for yourself and be organized. We do not want a robot, we want someone who learns and grows with us.
 

Bonus Skills:

 

If you have these additional skills, your resume will go right to the top of the stack (but if you don’t have these skills, you should still apply because they are not mandatory).

  • Administrative Assistant Professional Certificate

  • Graphic Design Experience

  • Previous Reception Experience
